1、 Classification of 40G optical modules
At present, CFP and QSFP+optical modules are two common types of 40G optical modules in the market.
1. The 40G CFP optical module is designed for the 40G Ethernet link on the single-mode optical fiber, complies with RoHS-6 standard, and provides the digital diagnosis function through the MDIO interface designated by CFIO MSA;
2. The 40G QSFP+optical module is a product developed on the basis of QSFP. It is dedicated to high-density applications. Compared with traditional SFP+optical modules, the port density is higher, and the overall system cost is lower. It has four data transmission channels, and the transmission rate of each channel is about 10Gbps. The transmission rate of 40Gbps can be achieved by simultaneous transmission of four channels.
2、 Introduction and Application of 40G QSFP+Optical Module
1. 40G SR4 QSFP+optical module: the center wavelength is 850nm, MPO/MTP interface, multi-mode, supports DDM, the operating temperature is 0 ° C~70 ° C, and the transmitted optical power is - 7.6 to+0.5dBm. It is commonly used in the data center.
Jumper matching scheme:
(1) With OM2, the maximum transmission distance is 30M.
(2) With OM3, the maximum transmission distance is 100M.
(3) With OM4, the maximum transmission distance is 150M.
2. 40G eSR4 QSFP+optical module: the center wavelength is 850nm, MPO/MTP interface, multi-mode, supporting DDM, operating temperature is 0 ° C~70 ° C, sending optical power is - 7.6 to+0.5dBm, commonly used in 40G Ethernet and metro optical transmission network.
Jumper matching scheme:
(1) With OM2, the maximum transmission distance is 82M.
(2) With OM3, the maximum transmission distance is 300M.
(3) With OM4, the maximum transmission distance is 400M.
2. 50G SFP56 SR transceiver optical module, 850nm wavelength, multi-mode, duplex LC interface, operating temperature of 0-70 ℃, can be matched with OM3 jumper, the maximum transmission distance is 70M, or matched with OM4 jumper, the maximum transmission distance is 100M.
50G optical module is mainly used for intermediate transmission and return transmission in the construction of 5G network. As an optical module manufacturer, the above products can be provided and compatible with Huawei, Cisco, H3C, Ruijie and other brand switches. In 5G, the return covers the metropolitan access layer, convergence layer and core layer. In the metropolitan access layer, 25G, 50G, 100G and other speed color optical modules are mainly used, while in the convergence layer and core layer, 100G, 200G, 400G and other speed DWDM color optical modules are mostly used.
At present, each application scenario has a variety of optical module technology schemes and types. The 5G bearer optical module technology scheme needs to further seek common ground while reserving differences, focus on convergence, and reduce costs through the cohesion investment and scale effect of key technical schemes.
